Richard Smith

Richard 'Richie' Smith, a resident of Glen Burnie, MD, passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017 at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore, MD. He was 47.

Richard was born on April 18, 1970 in Angeles City, Philippines and is the son of Theodore Smith and Concepcion Rio Smith-O'Neil.

After serving in the United States Marine Corps, Richard was a Police Officer with the Prince George's County Police Department for over 15 years.  Richard's greatest joy over the years was spent on the soccer sideline cheering his daughter and team on, playing video games with his kids, bass fishing, watching the Pittsburgh Steelers and driving the green beast.

Along with his parents, Richard is survived by his beloved wife of 15 years, Lisa A. Smith of Glen Burnie, MD; two loving children, Derrico and Taylor Smith of Glen Burnie, MD; sisters Maria Sheryl Hawkins of Clinton, MD and Maria Christine Banks of Waldorf, MD, brothers Theodore Smith Jr of Washington, DC and Anthony Smith of Washington, DC; devoted in-laws, George and Gloria Kemp of Ft. Washington, MD; and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, October 6, 2017 at 9:00 am in the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow at 11:00 am, Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland.
