Richard Lee Gamble, Jr., “Buzzy” a devoted family man, proud veteran, and beloved community member, passed away peacefully on March 26, 2026, in Hanover, Maryland. Born on May 29, 1954, in Cleveland, Ohio, Richard lived a life filled with love, resilience, and joy, leaving a lasting imprint on all who knew him

.A proud high school graduate, Richard answered the call to serve our country, dedicating eight years of his life to the military as an Army Medic. Following his service, he found his true calling in the trucking industry, where he spent over forty years navigating the highways, demonstrating unwavering commitment and hard work. Yet, it was not just his professional achievements that defined him, but the warmth and kindness he extended to everyone around him.Buzzy was a man whose spirit danced to the rhythms of Motown and Rhythm and Blues. He loved to sing and dance, filling his home and heart with music and joy. One of his favorite simple pleasures was sitting on the porch with his wife, Pamela, watching the sunrise together, a quiet moment that spoke volumes about his appreciation for life’s tender gifts. Known affectionately for his friendly greetings, he seemed to know every greeter at Walmart and was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. The people worked at the Safeway loved and looked forward to seeing him. Among his proudest accomplishments was his family. Buzzy shared fifty years of marriage with his beloved wife, Pamela Gamble, a steadfast partner who was his joy and strength. Together, they nurtured a loving family that includes their daughter, Amara "Birdie" Gamble; grandson, Abel Fowlkes; granddaughter, Adria Fowlkes; and great-granddaughter, Raidynn Kelly, who were the light of his life. Richard’s brothers—Anthony and Donny Gamble; sisters-in-law,Pinkey, Kim, Tanja, Lisa, Phyllis, Glenda, Juanita and Millicient; brother-in laws, Wuggie and Wop alongside him in remembrance, honoring a bond that time cannot diminish.Richard's legacy also embraces those who came before him: his late parents, Richard Lee Gamble, Sr. and Eleazer Moore, and brothers Jerry and James Gamble. Their memories live on in the stories shared and the lives touched by their beloved son and brother.Richard Lee Gamble, Jr. was a man who walked life with an open heart, a joyful dance, and an unfailing readiness to support and uplift those around him. His departure leaves a deep sorrow, yet his spirit continues in the love and memories held close by family, friends, and community. As we remember Richard’s rich and meaningful life, we celebrate the kindness he embodied, the music that uplifted him, and the family he so dearly cherished.
