Raul Padilla Baterna

Raul Padilla Baterna, a resident of Odenton, MD, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at theBaltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. He was 72. Raul was born on September 03,1951, in the Philippines and was the son of the late Benjamin Navarro Baterna and Teresa (nee Padilla)Baterna.

Raul served in the U.S Army for over 20 plus years with so much pride and honor. He dedicated his life toserving for our country, and you could see the sparkle in his eyes whenever he spoke of his day in themilitary. He had stories for days. And he is usually a man of few words. He loved his grandchildren to no end, gave them whatever they wanted, because “no” didn't exist when it came to his grandchildren. Some of the things he enjoyed doing in his spare time would be fishing and bowling.

Raul is survived by his beloved wife, Gloria Baterna of Odenton, MD; two loving children, MichaelBaterna of Odenton, MD, and Irene Lamison of Odenton, MD; two cherished grandchildren, Haidyn Baterna and Maylon Lamison, IV; four devoted brothers, Manuel, Orlando, Alfonso and BenjaminBaterna, Jr.; kind sister, Clarita Gloria; and numerous nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Tuesday, January 9, 2023, from 2:00 pm to 4: 00 pm & 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2023, at 11:00 am. Interment later with honors
