Paul Dominique Lamitte of Gambrills, MD passed away peacefully on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Paul was born in Fort-de-France, Martinique to Denise Milner (née Deslances) and Marius Lamitte. He grew up in Martinique and migrated to the United States in 1953, where he then served honorably in the U.S. Air Force for 26 years. After retiring from the Air Force, he then continued his service to the country by working for the Department of Veterans Affairs before retiring again to travel and spend more time with family.

He is survived by his beloved and devoted wife of 59 years, Maxia Lamitte (née Chevannes); his cherished children, Chantale and Christian Lamitte; his brother, Frederick Lamitte; his loving nieces and nephews; and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Christine Lamitte.

Visitation will be held on Monday, July 6, from 2 PM - 4 PM and 6 PM - 8 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home in Odenton, MD. A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, July 9, at 11 AM at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Odenton, MD. Internment will take place on Friday, July 10, at 10:45 AM at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery located in Crownsville, MD.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his honor to the American Kidney Fund, the Air Force Aid Society, or a charity of your choosing.
