Patricia Ann Holden

Beloved mother and grandmother, Patricia Ann Holden, 88, passed away on Sunday, 8 September 2024 in Crofton, MD. Born on Wednesday, May 20, 1936 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of William and Bernice (Caho) Rodgers. On July 11, 1959, she married Robert J. Holden Sr., who passed away on July 2, 2001.

After graduating high school in 1954, Patricia entered the Daughters of Charity convent in Emmitsburg, PA where she pursued an Elementary Education degree and taught elementary school. After leaving the convent, she married Robert and they settled in Cheverly, MD and raised their ten children. She later returned to school and received an LPN nursing degree. Patricia continued working well into her 80s and was a caregiver to many. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, and spending time with her family.

Surviving are five sons and four daughters: Robert J. Holden, Jr. (Virginia); Catherine M. Quinn; John G. Holden (April); Colleen M. Daves; Teresa M. Kemp (Stephen); Joseph A. Holden (Jane); Matthew P. Holden (Jaclyn); Elizabeth M. Nappa (Mark); Phillip M. Holden. She is survived by twenty grandchildren and four great-grandchildren: Barbara (Robert); Melanie (Stephen); Kelsey; Patricia (Andrew); Hannah (Robert); Benjamin; Emily; Faith; Emma; Lyla; Addison; Georgia; Ruby; Gabriel; Mark; Beau; Brooklyn; Rose; Matthew; Ivy; Lucas; Amelia; Hailey; Holden (due in October).

In addition to her parents and husband, Patricia was predeceased by son Mark F. Holden.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD, on Monday, September 16, 2024, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2024, at 1:00 pm, Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Spring, MD.
