Obituary

Olivia J. “Lolly” Ambrogio October 5, 1944 – September 16, 2026

Olivia J. “Lolly” Ambrogio passed away peacefully on September 16, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Baltimore on October 5, 1944, to the late Rose Ragonese Jett and William Jett, she was a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, beloved sister, and cherished friend.

Lolly was the second of two children and was raised alongside her brother, the late William P. Jett, in a Baltimore City row home on North Port Street. She attended Western High School before beginning her working life at Johns Hopkins Hospital, where she served as an X-ray clerk.

In 1967, Lolly met the love of her life, Sgt. Charles J. Ambrogio. They were married in April 1969 and began a life together shaped by love, family, and military service. For 17 years, Lolly proudly stood beside her husband as an Army wife, raising their two sons, Charles Jr. and Chris, and creating a loving home for her family wherever duty called. Their journey took them to Virginia, Germany, Italy, and ultimately back home to Maryland.

Following Charles’ retirement from the Army, Lolly returned to the workforce and became affectionately known as “the Cable Lady.” She began working for a small cable television provider at Fort Meade, which changed ownership many times over and was eventually acquired by Comcast. She remained in the cable television industry for approximately 20 years, building friendships and becoming known for her warm personality and dedication to her work.

Lolly had an appreciation for the pleasures that made life special. She enjoyed playing bingo, looked forward to trips to Atlantic City with her best friend, and had a deep love of opera, with the incomparable Luciano Pavarotti among her favorites. Yet, of all the things she treasured, nothing meant more to her than her family. She took particular joy in spending time with her grandchildren, Chase and Kayla, and treasured the memories they made together.

Lolly was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles J. Ambrogio Sr.; her parents, Rose and William Jett; and her brother, William P. “Pete” Jett.

She is survived by her sons, Charles J. "Chuck" Ambrogio Jr. and Chris Ambrogio; her grandchildren, Chase and Kayla Ambrogio; and the many family members, friends, and loved ones whose lives she touched throughout her 81 years.

Lolly lived a life devoted to those she loved. She was a woman of family, loyalty, resilience, and heart. Her presence will be deeply missed, but the love she gave and the memories she created will remain with her family always.

May she rest peacefully, knowing she was deeply loved.
