Narayana Rao Vajipeyajula, 77, a resident of Washington DC and Plainsboro NJ, passed away on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 in Washington, DC in the loving company of family and friends.
Mr. Vajipeyajula was born on January 25, 1940 in Kharagpur, West Bengal in India; the son of Venkata Rao Vajipeyajula and Vara Lakshmi. He married Seetha Devi Viswanadham on March 13, 1970 in Srikakulam, Andhra Pradesh, India.
Prior to his retirement, Mr. Vajipeyajula served Indian Railways for about four decades, travelling extensively across the length and breadth of India. He had an insatiable thirst for knowledge and was an avid reader. His gregarious and genial personality won him many friends and admirers at work.
Mr. Vajipeyajula was a loving, considerate, caring, and benevolent husband and father. To family and friends he was a tower of strength. He touched people through his kindness, warmth and affection. He leaves a lasting legacy of goodwill, and fond memories.
He is survived by his wife Seetha Devi, three children and five beautiful grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. All other services will be private.
