Michele "Mickey" Lamarr Garrett

Michele ”Mickey” Lamarr Garrett passed away on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD.  She was born at Sibley Hospital in Washington, D.C., on September 30, 1943,  the only child of Kathryn and Ashton Garrett. After graduation from Bladensburg High School in 1961, Mickey was employed as a secretary by NASA/Goddard Space Flight Center.  Her career with NASA spanned 34 years of distinguished service  where she held various positions from secretary to Manager of the Small Purchases Branch.   After her retirement, she became more involved in animal rights, rescuing feral cats and adopting many pets, mainly cats.  Mickey was also an avid golfer and enjoyed Genealogy research and documenting her family history. She is remembered by her family and many good friends.
In lieu of flowers, Mickey would have liked donations to go to Alley Animals, INC. (alleyanimals.org), Washington Humane Society, (washhumane.org) or Washington Rescue League,(warl.org).
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
