Mason Alexander Hamilton

Mason Alexander Hamilton, 26, died Friday, September 11th, 2026 after succumbing to his battle with suicide. Mason was born February 22nd, 2000 to parents; Tonia and Chris Hamilton in Clearwater, Florida. Mason is the second of three boys, behind older brother Christian, and just before younger brother, Caelan. Mason and his brothers were raised in Palm Harbor, Florida. From a young age, Mason showed great passion and pride in sports. He thrived by learning, practicing, and perfecting his craft. Mason had a passion for baseball, soccer, and especially basketball. He practiced relentlessly, conquering sport after sport. At 10 years-old he had advanced to the Countryside All-Star youth baseball team. During a big game, he managed to steal home base to get the game winning run! He promptly walked off the field with the triumphant cheers from his team, families, and fans echoing in the background. Mason approached his Dad and said, “Dad, I’m done; baseball is boring.” Baseball was never truly boring to him; he had accomplished what he aimed to when he started. He set goals for himself and pursued them relentlessly. He thrived by challenging and pushing himself; not only in sports but education as well. Mason graduated from East Lake High School in Tarpon Springs, Florida on May 17th, 2018. Immediately following graduation, Mason enlisted in the United States Army, swearing in on June 25th, 2018. Mason graduated from BCT in late September, 2018 at FT Leonard Wood (Missouri). Mason was assigned to Fort Gordon (Augusta, Georgia) for AIT for 25B, Information Technology Specialist, graduating February 13th, 2019. Mason’s first assignment out of school took him to Camp Humphrey’s in South Korea less than a week after graduating AIT. During his service with the US Army, Mason was sent on missions in Thailand (March 2023) and Eastern Africa (March – October 2021). Following his time overseas, he returned stateside to Joint Base Lewis-McChord (JBLM) in Tacoma, Washington.

It was while he was assigned at JBLM, that he gave a ride to a fellow solider who accidentally “blew up” the humvee she was driving. Mason and Rebecca started slowly as friends, but over the years quickly fell in love. They were married July 9th, 2023 in front of close friends on Tiltow Beach on the Puget Sound. Mason proudly completed his military service as a Corporal in February, 2024. He hung up his uniform to start the most important job of his life: Dad. Rebecca and Mason welcomed their first daughter Lilah Mae on February 28th, 2024, followed shortly after by their second daughter, Macy Lea, on March 27th 2025. Mason did the impossible and blossomed into an even more gentle, kind, genuine, and compassionate father. He gifted the world with two loving and beautiful girls which not only made his world brighter, but our world too. He loved nothing more than spending time with his girls, making them laugh, dance, and play. He watched them learn to walk, talk, and helped lay a foundation of persistence, determination, and love that the girls will carry with them for the rest of their lives.

Rebecca continued to serve in the US Army which took their family to Fort Meade, Maryland in January, 2025. Mason began working with TES Consultants supporting The Office of the Assistant to the Secretary of War for Public Affairs. Mason was working on site at The Pentagon in Washington, DC as a SharePoint and Mission Support Technician. He gained many friends at TES who became like family; brothers, sisters, and even “Work Moms.” He grew confidence in his work, completed additional classes, and continually impressed his leadership day after day. Beyond his years of dedicated service and love for his family, Mason enjoyed listening to Shannon Sharpe podcasts, watching professional sports, trips to Disney (and beyond) with his Aunt Kathy, loving-on his cats (Luci & Kali), History Channel shows, and after a long day, the Olive Garden Tour of Italy. If ever you find yourself in the Washington, DC area, grab a slice of Andy’s Pizza, margherita style, and know Mason is there with you.

Friends and family should take comfort in knowing Mason was baptized in the name of Jesus Christ only a few weeks before his untimely passing. Mason has been called home to be with the Lord where he is now at peace and made whole again. His family would like everyone to know, Mason may have lost his battle to suicide but we will still be fighting the war for him. We encourage anyone who is struggling to reach out to a friend or family member, or call 988 for crisis assistance.

Mason is survived by his wife Rebecca Lea [Dixon], two girls Lilah Mae (2yr 6mo) and Macy Lea (1yr 5mo). He is also survived by his Mother, Tonia Antonelli Hamilton; Father, Christopher Wayne Hamilton; brothers, Christian Alexander Hamilton and Caelan Alexander Hamilton; maternal grandmother, Rosa Antonelli; Uncle, Donald G.
