Mary Grace Zigurella Monico

Mary Grace Zigurella Monico, 85, of College Park, Maryland, passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2013 at Anne Arundel Medical Center after a long illness.

Mary was born in Naples, Italy on August 14, 1927 and came to the United States in 1947. She married John Monico on November 22, 1947 in Meadville, Pennsylvania; they were married nearly 60 years.

Mary is preceded in death by her spouse, John Monico, her parents Antonietta and Luigi Zigurella, and her three brothers, Luigi, Frank and Alessandro Zigurella.

Mary is survived by her two sons, John Monico, Jr. and Frank Monico; three daughters, Jeanie Fletcher, Adeline Fellows and Theresa Rogers; two sisters, Maria Russo and Bruna Nacca; a brother Armando Zigurella; 10 grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mary and her husband John were long standing members of the Knights of Columbus #2809 and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church in College Park, Maryland.

Mary loved spending time with her husband, family and friends, and especially enjoyed her grandchildren. Mary had a passion for Italian cooking and was an avid bingo player.

The family will receive friends at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Monday, July 22, 2013 from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at Our Lady of the Fields Roman Catholic Church, 1070 Cecil Avenue, South, Millersville, MD 21108 on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. Entombment will follow at Lakemont Memorial Gardens in Davidsonville, MD.
