Mary E. "Gene" Greksa

Mary E. "Gene" Greksa, a resident of Odenton, MD, passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 at the Crofton Care & Rehabilitation Center in Crofton, MD at the age of 89. Gene was born on February 26, 1924 in Columbus, GA and was the daughter of the late Henry Greene and Madeline (Tolson) Greene.

She was a loving wife and mother to her own children as well as to numerous other children of family friends and was known as "Grandma Gene" to them. She could always make the best of any situation. She will be missed.

Gene is survived by her loving children, Lawrence Greksa (Jill) of Shaker Heights, OH, Wayne Greksa (Anneliese) of Harwood, MD and Marjorie Chesnut of Gambrills, MD; three devoted grandchildren, Lauren Barker, Shayne Chesnut and Michael Greksa; four cherished great grandchildren, Aiden Barker, Alyssa Barker, Kylie Chesnut and Ashton Barker. Gene is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Greksa, sister, Geraldine Wolfe and brother, Buddy Greene.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. on Thursday, September 26, 2013 from 4pm to 7pm. A Funeral Service will take place on Friday, September 27, 2013 at 11:30am at the church at Severn Run, 8187 Telegraph Road, Severn, MD 21144. Interment will be private.
