Mark B. Belgen Jr.

On August 27, 2020, Mark Bennett Belgen Jr.,40, of Hanover passed away suddenly ​in a motorcycle accident. He is survived by his wife of 9 years, Maureen Belgen (nee McKenna); his daughters, Reagan Belgen, and Emma Belgen; his mother, Dian Cooper (Scott Haller); his father, Mark Belgen Sr. (Elaine King); his brother Brian Belgen (Tara Patterson); his grandparents William and Mary Jo Cooper and grandmother Evelyn Belgen.  He was predeceased by his grandfather, Roger Belgen, and his brother William “Billy” Belgen. Mark is also survived by many other loving family members and dear friends.

Mark grew up in Mission Viejo, California where he earned an Associates' Degree from Saddleback College and graduated with honors from UCLA, earning a Bachelors' ​degree in Political Science. While at UCLA, Mark served as a White House intern to Vice President, Dick Cheney. He proudly served his country as a ​Captain in the United States Marine Corps, with a tour of duty in Iraq. Mark then moved to Maryland, where he built his career in the U.S. Intelligence Community.  He was a member of the Masonic Vista Lodge #687 in Vista, California and was a member of the Chosen Sons Motorcycle Club of Laurel.  He loved his Harley Davidsons, enjoyed mountain biking, movies, UCLA sports, college football, the Los Angeles Angels, spending time with family and friends, and his puppy, Astrid.
