Marilyn C. Phelps

It is with great sadness and much love that we mourn the passing Marilyn C. Phelps (nee Stinchcomb), beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend. She left us peacefully on September 4, 2025 at the age of 81. Born in Baltimore, Maryland to George & Nettie Stinchcomb, Marilyn married the love of her life, Howard (Hallie) N. Phelps in 1960 and they raised two boys. Marilyn was heavily involved in the Ladies Auxiliary to the Odenton Volunteer Fire Company. She also served as president of the Anne Arundel County Ladies Auxiliary. Marilyn was a beloved member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Her true passion in this life was being a grandmother to her two grandchildren. She also owned and operated a daycare called Little Oaks where she watched many children over the years. Marilyn was an avid animal lover, especially of her dogs, Lissie and Ginger. Preceding Marilyn in death is her husband, Howard N. Phelps Sr. and her son, Robert J. Phelps. Surviving her is her son, Howard N. Phelps Jr., her daughter-in-law, Carolyn Doerk. Her two grandchildren and their spouses, Ashlee Musial (Roger) and Kyle Phelps (Izabel). Marilyn is also survived by her three siblings: Jeff, Judy & Albert Stinchcomb.
