Madhabi Mukhopadhyay

Smt. Madhabi Mukhopadhyay, beloved mother and grandmother passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022.

Born and raised in West Bengal, India, she lived in multiple cities in India including Mumbai & Hyderabad throughout her life before settling in Rockville, MD and Kolkata while in India.

Madhabi was a wonderful singer and excellent teacher.  In addition to her masters degree in music, Madhabi also taught music and religious scriptures such as the Bhagavad-Gita to many students in India.  Madhabi was a great cook and loved to prepare meals for her family and friends.

Madhabi was the wife of late Shri Saroj Kumar Mukhopadhyay. She was a loving mother to her two children, Sanghamitra Mukhopadhyay and Aniruddha Mukhopadhyay (including his wife Bhagyalaxmi Murali).  She was a doting grandmother to her two grandchildren- Anshuman Mukhopadhyay and Sanyukta Mukhopadhyay.
