Lumina Sardillo Robbs

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our beloved Lumina Sardillo Robbs on September 23, 2026, at her home in Laurel, Maryland. She relentlessly battled cancer for years, while trying to live a “normal” life with her loved ones. She was only 67 years old.

Lumina was born on July 24, 1959, in Cabanatuan City, Nueva Ecija, Philippines to Lucio Sardillo and Dominga Sardillo. She was their second eldest child out of their five children. Lumina lived the majority of her life in Mayapyap Sur, Cabanatuan City. She attended the local public school Mayapyap Elementary School and high school at the College of the Immaculate Conception. She then went on to attend University of Santo Tomas in Manila. She received her bachelor’s degree in medical technology in 1980.

In 1994, Lumina immigrated to the United States of America to pursue the American Dream, help her family navigate through poverty, and create more opportunities for her only daughter. She started her journey in the US working as a sales associate at Radio Shack. Then, she worked as a medical technologist in various hospital labs and lastly at MedStar Southern Maryland Hospital Center. She took pride in her job and work ethic, which was evident in how she treated her co-workers and work tasks. She was diligent and utilized her strengths to help others.

Lumina greatly enjoyed living her life and took many interests especially in fashion, makeup, cooking, baking, and making a comfortable home. She also loved walking in nature as well as walking at the local malls. Lumina loved spending time with David and taking care of him until his final moments. She became a grandmother in 2024 to Miles; she absolutely loved him and being his grandmother.

Lumina was preceded in death by her husband David Orenze, father Lucio Sardillo, mother Dominga Sardillo, and sister Mercedes Sardillo. She is survived by her daughter, Alyanna Sardillo and her husband Timothy Pajot, her grandson Miles Pajot, and her siblings Virgilio Sardillo, Pamona Sardillo and Ronald Sardillo.

Our family will celebrate her life on Friday, October 2 at 3:00 PM - 6:00 PM and Saturday, October 3, 2026 at 12:30 PM - 2:30 PM at Donaldson Funeral Home in Odenton, Maryland.
