Loretta Caldwell Geoffrion of Fort Meade, passed away peacefully on the afternoon of Saturday, October 4th. Born in Asmara, Eritrea on June 1st, 1942, the daughter of the late Umberto and Lettebrahan (Ghereamlak) Barbui.
Loving mother of Sonya Baker and Tanya Diak; caring sister of Rita La Rosa (husband Mario) and Ivana Cargnelutti; cherished grandmother of Alessandra Fobes (husband Andrew), Christopher Diak (wife Anais), Christina Owens, and David Reyes; treasured great-grandmother of Jackson Fobes, Chiara Fobes, and Mia Diak. She was preceded in death by her first husband of 38 years David J. Caldwell and later by her second husband of 7 years Roland J. Geoffrion.
Loretta was a member of the Navy Wives Club of America and the O’Malley Senior Center.
She found joy in cooking and dancing with the Howard County Line Dancers. Loretta loved a good book and the occasional trip to the casino and cherished her time traveling the world. Most of all, she loved the time she spent with her family.
There will be no services, in accordance with her wishes. Donations in her name may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a charity close to her heart.
