Lillian Mae Ray, a phenomenal wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and most importantly a child of God went home to the Lord on December 9, 2017 in Elkridge, Maryland at 93 years old.

Lillian Ray was born on August 14, 1924 in Warrenton, North Carolina. She was the youngest daughter of Macy and Mary Crosson (both deceased). At four years old, Lillian and her family moved to Baltimore, Maryland where she began memorable chapters in her life. Lillian attended Frederick Douglass High School in Baltimore, Maryland. She had a strong work ethic and became a nutritional employee with the Baltimore City Public School System. Lillian married William Ray (deceased), her soul mate, in 1948.

Lillian loved to serve the Lord. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church for over 50 years. Lillian was the President of the Prime Agers Ministry under Reverend Ames. Lillian always prayed for her family, friends, and anyone she met.

In her spare time, Lillian would travel the world with family to the Caribbean. Lillian had a spirit that would light up the room and could hold a conversation with someone she just met. She always took the opportunity to share with others endless stories and photos about her beautiful family. She was a devoted, passionate, and loving woman who always showed unconditional love to her growing family.

Lillian is survived by Arnold Burr, her son, and Vanessa Ray-Hunt, her daughter, along with 12 grandchildren. In addition, Lillian leaves behind 26 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and relatives.

The matriarch of five generations will truly be missed.
