Lawrence H. Mccleery

On Monday, November 16, 2020, surrounded by his family, the Lord took Lawrence H. McCleery by the hand and peacefully led him home. A Christian who faithfully followed Jesus Christ. Larry was born on February 7, 1937 in Washington, D.C., and was the son of the late Everett and Loretta McCleery.

After graduating high school, Larry went on to receive his bachelor’s degree from Benjamin Franklin University. He was drafted into the US Army, served his country and was honorably discharged. He entered the government and served with the IRS for 30 years. Larry was a dedicated Christian and served Christ in the church. He loved Jesus and accepted him with all his heart. Larry was especially proud of his family and loved them very much.

Lawrence is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Joan McCleery; loving son, Richard Lawrence McCleery and his wife Linda; two cherished grandchildren, Brandon and Kayla McCleery; devoted brother, Harrison McCleery; caring cousin, Natalie Brooke.

A Memorial service will be held at the Odenton Baptist Church, 8410 Piney Orchard Parkway, Odenton, MD 21113 at a later date. Interment will be private.
