Lakshmi R. Mathur

Lakshmi Rani Mathur, age 90, of Potomac passed away this past Tuesday, June 19th, 2018.

Lakshmi Rani was born on June 24th, 1927 in Agra, India. She was the youngest of five siblings, and grew up in Bharatpur, Rajasthan. She moved to New Delhi and then got married on December 11th, 1949. She then moved to the U.S. in 1988.

Lakshmi was a woman of many talents, a few of which included teaching Indian classical music and dance to children. Her other hobbies included knitting and reading stories from a variety of magazines and newspapers. She is survived by her five children, nine grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. She lived a comfortable life with three of her grandchildren, two sons, and two daughters-in-law.

Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, June 22nd, at 11:00 AM at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. in Odenton, MD. An additional memorial event will be scheduled, the details of which will be communicated at a later date.

The family wishes to thank Lakshmi’s caretakers Kamini, Naina, and Naga for their services in caring for her.
