In Loving Memory of Kim Tran May 5, 1965 – August 2, 2025 With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden and unexpected passing of Kim Tran on August 2, 2025, at the age of 60. Kim was born on May 5, 1965, in Cambodia during a time of great hardship. She survived the Khmer Rouge regime before bravely immigrating to the United States in search of a better life. Through it all, Kim remained a joyful, positive, and warm-hearted person who always saw the good in others. She is best known for always taking care of her family—both the family she was born into, and the one she built with her husband, Heng. Whether it was through acts of service, home-cooked meals, or simply being there when needed, Kim was the heart of her family and made sure everyone felt supported, loved, and cared for. Kim was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She is survived by her devoted husband Heng; her children Cheryl and John; and her sons-in-law Jeremy and Alex. She was also the proud grandmother of Daniel, whose presence in this world was deeply inspired by her gentle encouragement and belief in the importance of family. A skilled barber by profession, Kim found immense joy in her work and in the connections she made with those around her. She was best known for her bubbly personality, joyful laughter, and her generous heart. Kim's love language was food—if you ever received a lovingly prepared dish, a perfectly cut plate of fruit, or if she brought you your favorite meal just because you mentioned it once, you knew you were loved. To know Kim was to be cared for. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, nurtured, and cherished. Her legacy lives on through her children—Cheryl, who became an optometrist with Kim’s loving encouragement, and John, a Lieutenant and Paramedic who proudly serves and protects his community. Kim also had a wonderful sense of humor and quirks that made her truly one-of-a-kind. She was never without a floss picker—after every meal, without fail, she would offer floss to everyone at the table. It was one of her many ways of making sure the people around her were always taken care of, even in the smallest, most thoughtful ways. In many ways, Kim lived the American dream: from surviving unthinkable hardship to building a life rooted in love, family, and purpose. Her story is one of strength, sacrifice, and deep joy. While her passing leaves a deep void, we find comfort in knowing that her life was full of meaning. Her final gift to us is a reminder: cherish your loved ones, hug them a little tighter, and never take a moment for granted. Kim Tran’s light will continue to shine in the lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
