Kenneth Young Soon Kim
March 17, 1928 — December 28, 2014
Kenneth Young Soon Kim, a resident of Severn, MD, passed away on Sunday, December 28, 2014 at his home. Kenneth was born on March 17, 1928 in Lanai City, Hawaii and was the son of the late Yil Sung and Miriam Kim. Kenneth served 30 distinguished years in The U.S. Army, serving in three wars. He was a Purple Heart recipient.
Kenneth is survived by his wife, Laura Kim of Severn, MD; five children, Patrick Kim of Redmond, WA, Vernon Kim of Columbia, MD, Kenneth Kim, Jr. of Fontana, CA, Michael Kim of Fredericksburg, VA and Diane Lain of Glen Burnie, MD; four brothers, Peter, Herman, Charlie and Robert Kim; eight grandchildren, Paul Kim, Gen Kim, Jessica Lain, Koyo Kim, Justin Lain, Kyu Kim, Christopher Kim and Kristin Kim. Kenneth is preceded in death by his sister, Beatrice and brother, David.
The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD, 21113 on Friday, January 9, 2015 from 10am to 12pm. A Mason's Service will take place at 12:15pm. The Funeral Service will begin at 12:30pm. Interment will folllow to Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Crownsville, MD.
