On May 18, 2024, Kenneth M. Abey Sr. passed away peacefully at the age of 91. Devoted father of Kenneth Jr. (wife Debbie), Ronald (wife Linda), and Lewis Abey (wife Lisa); beloved grandfather of Dustin, Stephen, Matthew, Sara Valdes-Alcaraz and great-grandfather of Eden, Hazel, Addisyn, Lawson, Jude, Emersyn, Cole, Sidney, Giovanni, Isabella and Giorgio. He is also survived by his former spouse and friend, Nancy Jarman. He was predeceased by his parents John and Jessie Abey and his siblings Joseph, Harry, and Donald Abey and Mattie Garrettson. Ken is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends.
Ken proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean Conflict. He worked at Scandia Manufacturing as a machinist and made partsfor Navy submarines. He was a member of the American Legion and an avid Orioles and Ravens fan. Ken loved fishing and going on road trips. He enjoyed going to IHOP for breakfast, eating crabs, or indulging in strawberry shortcake for dessert. Most especially, he loved spending time with his family and going to his grandchildren and great-grandchildren’s sporting events. He will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather – a hero to many.
