Kathleen Joy (Secrist) Whiting

On November 17, 2024, Kathleen Joy Whiting passed away at the age of 82.  Kathy proudly served as a member of the United States Army. She was a resident of Severn for 51 years and a longtime member of her Home Owner’s Association Board. A classic car lover, she belonged to the Lost In The 50’s Car Club and cherished her own ’88 Cadillac and going to the local car show on Saturday nights.  Her favorite classic car was the ’59 Impala. Kathy was also an avid sports fan and enjoyed going to baseball games and supporting the Redskins.  She was very good at crafts and sewed beautiful baby blankets. Kathy enjoyed reading, completing puzzles, and spending time talking with her neighbors.  Most especially, she treasured the time spent with her grandchildren.

Loving mother of Danny Whiting, Thomas Whiting, and Faye Whiting; adoring grandmother of Jada Whiting and Dashon Jones. She was predeceased by her husband Ronnie and her siblings Thomas and Susan.  She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
