Julia Aline Lenz

Our beloved Julia “Julie” Aline Schlette Lenz passed away on November 25, 2023 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center after a sudden decline in health. She was 36 years old. Born in Boston and raised in Pennington, New Jersey, Julie lived in the Crownsville/Ft. Meade (Maryland) area for the past 8 years. Her family is deeply saddened by her sudden death.

Julie is survived by her loving husband William J. Lenz; her parents Theodore and Deborah Schlette; her sister Audrey Stilwell (husband, Tyler) and beloved nephew Oliver Stilwell; her grandmother Margaret U. Kole; many extended family members and caring friends.  She was predeceased by her sister Abigail Kole Schlette and her grandparents Larry L. Kole, Blanche Nina Schlette, and Wilbur F. Schlette.

From a young age, Julie exhibited an innate kindness and desire to help others. Her close relationship to her paternal grandmother inspired her to graduate from Misericordia University with a degree in Gerontology. After college, Julie fulfilled her lifelong dream of volunteering at an orphanage in Tanzania. She then spent several years working at a home for autistic adults. Since moving to Maryland, she has worked as an activities coordinator and driver for Celebration Villa of Manresa in Annapolis. Julie loved living a life of service. Bringing happiness to others gave her much joy.

Julie always appreciated the outdoors, from exploring national parks, to going on safari in Africa or just spending time hiking, and visiting beautiful places wherever she went.  Artistic in nature, she had a flair for the creative and loved knitting, broadway music, coloring, and making things.  Julie also enjoyed spending time playing games with family and friends.

Julie had the biggest heart and the most beautiful smile. She was quiet, but also very witty and fun loving. She brought joy and happiness to everyone around her. She will be greatly missed.
