Joyce Mason

On March 6, 2022, Joyce Mason, age 80, of Odenton, MD, passed away. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to so many.

Her laughter was contagious and brought a smile to everyone around her. The unconditional love she showed to all of those around her will never be forgotten. Joyce was a caring, loving, generous lady who was always willing to help others, no matter what. Joyce was a lifelong Redskins fan, she enjoyed getting crabs at Fisherman’s Inn crab deck “over the bay bridge” and Mike's Crab Restaurant, she was a member at the Elk’s Lodge and enjoyed dancing, as well as glancing at yard sales to search for collector’s items she adored. She loved Ocean City, MD. Watching and listening to the ocean waves.

She was raised in West Lanham Hills, MD and attended Bladensburg High School. Joyce worked for Trible's Inc. as an Accounting Supervisor for over 20 years.  Joyce began working for NASA in 1992, where she continued to work until age 79 in year 2020 as a Procurement Buyer. Joyce is preceded in death by her father and mother Lander and Madeline Lay, her brother Charles Lay- wife Betty, brother in law Frank Redmond and brother Steve Lay.

Lovingly remembered by her children Michael Mason and Janice Mason Bruno; her grandchildren Katie LeGendre- husband Shane, Andrew Mason- wife Lindsay, Lynn Dew, Austin Watson, and Justin Watson, her great grand children K Mason, and Jaxson LeGendre, sisters Janice Slaughter, Carol Redmond- husband Frank, Diane Sensintaffar- husband Larry, Mickey McCarthy- wife Debra, Nancy Ryder- husband Ralph.

A Celebration of Life for Joyce Mason will be held on Saturday March 26, 2022 at the Elk’s Lodge in Gambrills, Maryland from 10:00am- 2:00pm. Bowie Elk’s Lodge #2309 , 1506 Defense Highway , Gambrills, MD 21054
