John Wesley "Wes" Demler, 81, a 30 year resident of Laurel and previously of Adelphi, died August 30, after a long illness. He was born December 29, 1930, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania to the late John and Naomi Demler.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Doris Demler of Annapolis, a daughter, Karen Stevenson (Thom) of Annapolis, a son, Scott Demler (Laura) of Damascus, four grandchildren, Colin Stevenson(Jaime), Amanda Wood (Erik), Julia Demler and Rebecca Demler, two great-grandchildren, Claire and Jack Stevenson, and a nephew, Mark Black. He is predeceased by his parents, a sister, Carol Demler Black Bellantoni, and a niece, Bonnie Black.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 15, 2012 at 11:00am at Laurel Presbyterian Church 7610 Old Sandy Spring Rd. Laurel, MD, 20707. Contributions in memory of Wes may be made to the Laurel Presbyterian Church.
