John Edward Stahlnecker. resident of Odenton, MD, passed away on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home. He was 86. John was born on August 7, 1940 in Williamsport, PA, and was the son of the late John Sydney Stahlnecker and Lucille Margaret (nee Treon) Stahlnecker.

John was a diehard Washington Redskin and Capitals fan. He loved hunting, fishing and especially washing NASCAR with his friends. He never missed a race. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family. A patient and giving man, John  took care of his wife, Mary Ann for 22 years after her car accident.

John is survived by his 6 children, John Stahlnecker (Vickie), Mike Stahlnecker, Pat Stahlnecker and (Christine), Chris Stahlnecker, Jerry Sappington (Salle), and Paul Sappington. 18 adorable grandchildren and 10 sweet great-grandchildren.
