On April 1, 2016, Joel W. Pacen, 80, of Bishopville, MD, passed away at home. Born in Atlantic City, NJ, he is the son of the late Fred and Minna (Roberts) Pacen. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Grace Pacen; his children Frederick K. Pacen and his wife Joanne of Davidsonville, Timothy A. Pacen and his wife Donna Jean of Sykesville, and Leslie J. Pacen and her husband Lee Todd III of Odenton; and his sister, Anita Hardin of Glenwood. He is also survived by his grandchildren Brian W. Pacen, Lindsay E. Pacen, Samantha J. Kromer, and Andrew J. Turner.
Joel retired from Embassy Dairy as a truck driver and was a lifetime member of the Teamsters Union. He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Lanham Boys and Girls Club and the Glenn Dale Recreation Council. He was an avid sports fan and enjoyed playing sports when he was younger and later enjoyed coaching for his children’s teams.
