Janet Friede Whiting

Janet Friede Whiting, a 45 year resident of Crofton, MD, passed away on Sunday, June 5, 2011 at her residence, at the age of 77. Janet was born on October 3, 1933 in Wheeling, WV to the late Herbert Adolph Friede and Margaret (Lewis) Friede.

Janet was a graduate of West Virginia University and a member of Alpha Phi sorority. She worked as a Home Economist at Pepco, Washington D.C. and as a merchandiser for Bissell and Jockey. Her most important and memorable work was that of a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.

Janet is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Alan Whiting; son, Ned Whiting of Euless, TX; daughter, Lisa Whiting-Tessicini of Pasadena, MD; grandson, Shane Whiting of Grapevine, TX; granddaughter, Kara Whiting of Pasadena, MD; and sister, Kathryn Shaffer of Charleston, WV.

A Memorial Service will be held at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Friday, June 10, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. Interment will be private.
