James Edward Lobdell, 74, of Bartlett, New Hampshire, passed away peacefully in Odenton, Maryland, on August 3, 2024. Born on September 28, 1949, in Bartlett, Jim's life was a testament to his deep dedication, boundless joy, and unwavering commitment to both his country and his community.
Jim served with distinction for over 20 years in the United States Air Force, earning the respect and admiration of his peers. Following his military career, he transitioned to a rewarding role as a professor at Catonsville Community College, where he inspired and mentored many students.
In his golden years, Jim found great joy in attending Renaissance fairs with friends and family. He also spread holiday cheer as Santa Claus, bringing warmth and joy to countless individuals.
Jim is survived by his four sons, seven grandchildren, four siblings, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father, Winslow Lobdell, and his mother, Patricia Lobdell. His family and friends will remember him for his kindness, wisdom, and infectious enthusiasm for life.
A celebration of life will be held in Bartlett, NH, at a time to be determined, where family and friends will gather to honor Jim's remarkable life and share their cherished memories. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children in Jim’s honor.
Jim’s legacy of service, education, and joy will continue to inspire and uplift those who knew him. He will be deeply missed but lovingly remembered by all whose lives he touched.
