James Stephen Haupt, age 39 of Odenton passed away suddenly on September 21, 2023, at the University of Maryland Baltimore Washington Medical Center. He was born on November 10, 1983, in Baltimore Maryland.
There are not enough words to describe James. Son, Brother, Uncle, Friend, artist, philosopher, and wanderer. He was an amazing artist and writer winning numerous awards through Anne Arundel Community College. He also had the opportunity to work as a Property Master on two locally filmed movie productions: The Night Watchmen and A Comedy of Horrors Volume 1. James was an avid gardener and beekeeper. One of his proudest achievements was his position as a woodworking teacher at The Harbour School mentoring special needs children. James also loved to travel including trips to the United Kingdom and Italy as well as throughout the United States. Since he was a young child, James loved to cook as he spent much time in the kitchen with his Grandmother. Anyone who had the pleasure of meeting James knew what a generous and kind person he was. His final and most selfless act was giving the gift of life as an organ donor to four recipients.
James is survived by his Father Stephen Haupt of Odenton, his Mother and Step Father Lori Doney-Bruther and Scott Bruther, and his Brother Kyle Bruther, all of Annapolis. His Brother, Sister-in-Law, and Niece Robert, Dawn and Charlotte Haupt of Gambrills, and his Grandparents Ronald and Janet Haupt of Odenton. As well as many Aunts, Uncles, and cousins. He is preceded in death by his Grandparents James Sr. and Lucille Doney.
In lieu of flowers, donations in James' honor may be sent to The Harbour School 1277 Green Holly Dr. Annapolis, MD. 21401.
