James Bonner Hasty

On August 1, 2013, James Bonner "Capt. Jim" Hasty passed away after a lengthy illness. Born on September 15, 1946 in Richmond, Virginia, Jim lived in Odenton for the past 10 years and in Annapolis prior to that. Beloved husband of 23 years to Deborah Hasty (nee Stahl); Loving father of Adam Hasty of California and caring brother of Robert B. Hasty of Minnesota; Cherished grandfather of two. He was predeceased by his parents, Rufus and Bunia Hasty.

Jim attended Northwestern University and proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy, serving in Vietnam as military photo intelligence. He worked renovating homes, and later became a professional yacht captain and marine consultant. He belonged to the American Professional Captain's Associations, Potomac River Pilot's Association, Sea Heritage Foundation and was a Charter Member of the Chesapeake Area Professional Captain's Association and various automobile associations. Jim had a passion for automobiles and boating. He loved to travel and to spend time with his family and friends.
