Irene J. Duncan

Irene J. Duncan, beloved wife of Henry D. Duncan Jr. of Odenton, MD, passed away on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at Baltimore Washington Medical Center in Glen Burnie, MD. She was 93 at the time of her passing. Irene was born January 8, 1919, in Douglas, AZ. She was the daughter of the late Joseph Skellchock and Concepcion Silvas.

Irene led an active life and enjoyed cross stich, knitting, gardening and most of all travel. She remained grateful to all her friends who shared those special relationships that lasted a lifetime.

Irene is survived by her husband of 41 years, Henry D. Duncan, Jr.; her sisters Laura Stevens of Berwyn, PA, and Julia Lobel of Hillsborough CA, her brother Leo Skellchock of Windham, NH, her sons Marc Benedict of Terre Hill, PA, and Guy Benedict of Hometown, PA, stepdaughter Carol Ziegler of Tabernacle, NJ, stepsonsHenry D. Duncan III of Easton, MD, and Joseph C. Duncan of Hebron, MD, nine grand-children, and one great-grandson.

A Memorial Service will be held at The Ark & Dove Presbyterian Church, 8424 Piney Orchard Parkway, Odenton, MD 21113 on Tuesday, October 23, 2012, at 10:00 am, followed by interment at 2:00 pm at Oxford Cemetery, Oxford, MD.
