Ilan Stanley Betzer

Ilan Stanley Betzer, son of Andrew Betzer and Mousumi Bose, passed away in his parents' arms at the Newark Beth Israel Medical Center (Newark, NJ) on October 23, 2011. Ilan was diagnosed with Peroxisomal Biogenesis Disorder at birth, a rare and predominantly fatal genetic disease. He fought bravely for his 14 months of life since his birth on August 18, 2010.
During his brief life, Ilan touched the lives of many people. He especially loved laying on his Daddy's chest, listening to music with his Mommy, and cuddling with his many friends and family members. He responded well to occupational and physical therapy, showing increased strength and reactions to his environment with every day.
Ilan is preceded in death by his great grandmother, Binapani Das, and his grandmother, Phillis Dian Stanley Betzer. He is survived by his parents, grandparents Gouranga and Rita Bose, grandfather Terry Roger Betzer, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A memorial service for Ilan will be held on Saturday October 29, 2011 at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Rd, Odenton, MD 21113 at 10:00am.
