Harry Lee Collier

Harry Lee Collier of Arnold, MD, passed away on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 at the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center in Harwood, MD, at the age of 88. Harry was born on September 4, 1923 in Portsmouth, OH and was the son the late Martin P. Collier and Marilla (Adams) Collier.

Harry entered the U.S. Army on March 4, 1943 and served proudly during WWII at Normandy Beach, Ardennes, Northern France, Rhineland, & Central Europe. Upon discharge in 1945, he became an ordained minister in the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ and served faithfully for 60 years. He worked as a truck driver for J.J. Hock Trucking Company early on and later became a certified welder in the local chapter of the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers & Steamfitters until his retirement in 1985. He was a dedicated father and husband, and friend to everyone he met. He will be missed.

Harry is survived by his beloved wife of 66 years Norma E. Collier of Arnold, MD; two loving sons, Harry Lee Collier, Jr. and wife, Phyllis of Millersville, MD and William Henry Collier and wife, Carol of Odenton, MD; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters. Harry was preceded in death by his brother, Bill and sister, Joyce.

The Family will receive friends at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Sunday, May 6, 2012 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 7, 2012 at 12:30 p.m. in the Donaldson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment services will follow at the Maryland Veterans Cemetery Crownsville, MD.
