Harpal Singh, 72, died November 22, 2012, with his family by his side in Rockville, MD.
Services celebrating his life were held at Donaldson Funeral Home in Odenton, MD and Guru Nanak Foundation of America in Silver Spring, MD.
Singh was born on May 10, 1940, in Sargodha, Pakistan to Jaswant Singh and Daljit Kaur and later migrated to Saharanpur, India.
Singh studied in India and became a chartered accountant in that country. He then moved to Lusaka, Zambia where he worked as a financial auditor for the Zambian Government. Later, he migrated to North America via Canada and arrived in the U.S. in 1980 where he settled in Maryland.
In 1985, Singh established his own accounting practice in Silver Spring and later relocated it to Rockville, MD.
Other than a passion for his career, his interests included chess, music, reading, playing cards and entertaining friends and family.
Singh is survived by wife, Bhupindar Kaur; Son & Daughter and their spouses, Raj and Surina; & Rasna & Ali Al Khamis; and 3 grandchildren.
