Gladys R. Albert, a life long resident of Millersville, MD, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2016, at her home. She was 89. Gladys was born on July 12, 1926 in Gambrills, MD and was the daughter of the late Moses Bender Clark and Leanna nee Lowman Clark.
Gladys was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was the example of what a mother should be. She was a devout Catholic and devoted to her loving Blessed Mother. She was an old fashioned "comfort food" cook and loved it when her family or anyone who wanted to join stopped by for supper.
Gladys loved bingo, gardening and her lottery and had a kind word for everyone she met. She always kept a full "junk food drawer" for when you stopped by. We all knew the meaning of "what happens at Nan's stays at Nan's". Her little ones loved that!
The welcome mat was always out for anyone who wanted to join our family. Just bring yourself, no invitation needed.
Gladys is survived by her loving children; Sharon Bradley (Wayne) of Severna Park, MD, Judee Snyder (Glenn) of Severna Park, MD, John Albert (Barbara) of Fellsmere, FL, James Albert of Millersville, MD, Angela Reitz ( David) of Odenton, MD, Timothy Albert (Tracy) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Julie Albert of Glen Burnie, MD; two devoted sisters, Marie Ferguson-Davie of Severn, MD and Mae Thompson of Gambrills, MD; 14 cherished grandchildren; Nicole, Carrie, John, Brandee, Aaron, Brandon, Savanna, Leeanna, Cole, Andi, Preslie, Jessica, Kailee and Emilee, 13 adored great-grandchildren; Reagan, Carlee, Kendall, Ava, Eleanor, Jack, Campbell, Darson, Justin, Jakob, Ashlynn, Charlee, and Alana. She is also survived by many, many loving nieces and nephews. Gladys is preceded in death by her husband of 68 years, Carl "Curley" Albert.
