Gertrude Bessie Elgare

Gertrude "Bessie" Elgare, daughter of the late Amy Summervilla and Wilbert Elgare, was born in Chestertown, Maryland. She came to Baltimore as a little girl and attended Baltimore City Public Schools graduating from Carver High School.
In 1956, she met and married James Carlar Morant, from their union they were blessed with seven children: Linda, Alvin, Angie, Glen (preceded her in death), Darnell, Charlene ( Ayo) and Sean ( Angela). She had nine grandchildren, Quinton ( Tonya), Tamyka, Renee, Marcus, John, Natosha, Teovonni, Felicia, Stephen, and seven great grand children and a host of family and friends and Andrew Brown IV a very close and special friend.
