Gerald “Jerry” Campbell, 85, of Gambrills, passed away on January 16, 2025, A devoted family man, and U.S. Army veteran, Jerry lived a life marked by service, and dedication to those he held dear.

Born on June 4, 1939 in Clarksburg, WV to Henry Campbell and Sylva Cashdollar. Jerry grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and a love for working with his hands, values he carried throughout his life. He proudly served 24 years in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers retiring in 1982 as First Sergeant of Company D 76th Engineer Battalion Fort Meade.

After the military, Jerry started a new career as Assistant Chief of Maintenance with Maryland State Aviation at BWI, retiring in 2006, where he was known for his diligence and commitment to keeping things running smoothly.

In his free time, Jerry enjoyed tinkering with almost anything, crafting wooden ships with remarkable attention to detail which later led to scale train modeling. He enjoyed working on project cars and vans,with his son and spending time working in the garden beside his wife Sheila.

Jerry will be remembered as a generous provider who ensured his family was always taken care of, and a man whose hands were always busy building something meaningful.

Jerry is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years,Sheila; children, Dawn (Drew), Mark (Kimberly); and his cherished granddaughter, Isabella. He is predeceased by his parents, Henry and Sylva Campbell, and his brother, Glen Campbell.

His family finds comfort in knowing that Jerry’’s legacy of love, kindness, and hard work will live on through the lives he touched.

A private celebration of life will be held at the family home.
