Georgine
Pahlow
Aug 20, 1942 — May 6, 2026
Georgine Anna Pahlow, 83, passed away in Baltimore, Maryland, on Wednesday, May 6, 2026.
Born on August 20, 1942, in Pottsville, PA, Georgine was the daughter of George F. Candee and Agnes Fox Candee. At the age of two, she moved to Schuylkill Haven, where she discovered her lifelong passions for scouting and the Red Cross. Throughout her life, she remained deeply involved in Girl Scouting and served as a Red Cross instructor, teaching lifesaving, water safety, and swimming, with a special dedication to teaching children with special needs.
Following her graduation from Nativity High, Georgine worked for Sears before proudly joining the United States Air Force. While stationed in Colorado, she met fellow service member Mike Pahlow. They were married shortly thereafter, at which time she resigned from her position in the Air Force.
As an Air Force spouse, Georgine dedicated herself to volunteering at various bases. While stationed in Okinawa, they welcomed their first son, Dean Michael Pahlow. Georgine and Dean then moved to Pottsville PA., when her husband was sent to Thailand for a year. Their second son, Joseph Daniel Pahlow, was born at Beale Air Force Base in California, CA. Georgine loved the San Francisco area. While stationed later at San Vito Air Force Base in Italy, Georgine was named Spouse of the Year for her extensive service as a Girl Scout leader, CCD teacher, and pool manager. Her dedication to scouting led to an invitation to the Girl Guides and Girl Scouts Chalet in Adelboden, Switzerland.
After moving to Fort Meade, Maryland, Georgine continued her service as a Girl Scout leader, swim instructor, school nurse volunteer, and PTA member.
In the lean times mom moved office furniture and baked wedding cakes out of her kitchen. She worked for two popular dentists in Laurel, Maryland. She later transitioned into a professional career in Medical Records and OB-GYN, eventually becoming the Medical Records Supervisor at Kimbrough Army Hospital. During her tenure, she also served as the PAD Officer and the first HIPAA Officer, providing over 30 years of dedicated service to the Department of Defense before retiring to care for her husband, Mike, who passed away in 2016.
In her retirement in Odenton, Georgine enjoyed making jewelry, baking, making ice cream, reading mystery novels, and spending time at the beach. She was a light in an often dark world and a loyal friend to all who knew her. She was a helper and a best friend.
Georgine was preceded in death by her parents, George and Agnes Candee, her husband, Mike Pahlow, and her son, Dean Pahlow. She is survived by her son Joseph; her grandchildren, Joseph, Alex, Nick, William, Zack, and Jorga; and her beloved older sister, Mary Agnes "Mac" Buebeck.
