Gary O. Dillon

Gary O. Dillon, age 69, went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2017.  Beloved husband of 44 years to Willie Ann Dillon (nee Totton); devoted father of Gregory Cummings Sr., Carla Morrison (Cummings) and her husband Hugh, and Tonya Flichman (Cummings) and her husband Richard;  adoring grandfather of Marloin Cummings, Nyonica Kennedy, Tonya Summerville, Greg Justin Cummings, Gary Dewight Cummings, Greg. L. Cummings II, and Shai Cummings; caring great-grandfather of Raedon Corey Nigel Wright. Gary is predeceased by his parents Leroy and Hilda Dillon, sister Oveta Dillon Monroe and his nephew Christopher Brandon Monroe.  He is also survived by many loving family members, dear friends, and cherished godchildren.

Born in Mississippi, Gary lived in Severn for 19 years.  He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Army for 20 years before retiring. He then worked for another 25 years as a Transportation Inspector for the government before retiring again.  Gary was passionate about music, both playing music and writing.  An accomplished saxophonist, he played in the band “Sounds of Earth”.  He also enjoyed playing baseball and was known for his eloquent writings.  Most especially, he loved spending time with his family and always put them first.
