Eugene R. O'Neill, Sr.

Eugene R. O’Neill, Sr., a resident of Odenton, MD, passed away on Monday, January 2, 2023 at Baltimore Washington Medical Center, Glen Burnie, MD. He was 86. Eugene was born on November 25, 1936 in Washington, DC and was the son of the late John Patrick O’Neill and Pearl Anna (nee Phillips) O’Neill.

Gene was a proud veteran of the Navy. He grew up in DC in a loving Irish family with two brothers and three sisters.  Gene also met the love of his life and wife of 60 years in DC and they raised their family in the nearby area. He loved playing horseshoes, cornhole and cards (Rook), and eating hard shell crabs and shrimp.  Most of all he was a wonderful husband, father and provider.

Eugene is survived by his beloved wife, Kathryn O’Neill; two loving children, Eugene R. O’Neill, Jr. (Darrine), Michelle Cochran (Robert); four cherished grandchildren, Kyle and Kevin Cochran, Dean and Daniel O’Neill; two adorable great grandchildren, Liam and Landon Cochran. Eugene is survived by a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

The family will receive friends at the Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A., 1411 Annapolis Road, Odenton, MD 21113 on Friday, January 6, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm. A Prayer Service will be said at 6:00 pm. Interment will be at a later date.
