Edward W. Leary, Leary,

Edward Willard Leary, III, a resident of Severn, MD, passed away on Sunday, April 3, at the age of 74. Edward was born January 23, 1937 in Maryland and was the son of the late Edward and Ruth Leary.
Edward graduated from Patterson High School in Baltimore, MD where he wrestled and played football. In his younger years he was a star scout and then later became a scout leader. He played softball for many church leagues some until he was almost 50 years old. He was a 45 year member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He enjoyed singing and was an active member of the Notables singing group and the Severn United Methodist Church Choir. He was a true Oriole's and Raven's fan. He enjoyed the beach, camping, fishing, and shrimping. He also loved watching his grandsons wrestle, and his granddaughter play softball, especially in college.
Edward was predeceased by his loving wife Bernice M. (Ahl) Leary, whom he married November 25, 1955.
Edward is survived by his two sons Craig Edward and Neil Steven Leary; one sister Jean Franklin; six grandchildren Joshua A. Metzler, Andrew S. Leary, William H. Metzler, Shelby H. Leary, Kelly B. Leary, and Eric C. Leary; he is also survived by one great granddaughter Audrey L. Smith.
A visitation will be held Wednesday from 3:00 to 5:00pm and 7:00 to 9:00pm at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road Odenton, MD, where a funeral service will take place Thursday at 11:00am. Interment Epiphany Episcopal Cemetery.
