Drake A. Huber of Millersville passed away peacefully after a brave and courageous battle with multiple health issues. Born in Ohio in 1958, Drake lived a life defined by service, dedication, and quiet strength. Known for his generosity and charitable spirit, Drake was a strong and proud man who deeply loved his family.
He proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy. Following his military service, he chose careers in Farm Management and Facility Maintenance so he could work outside. Drake took great pride in his roles and carried them out with commitment and care.
Drake found great contentment outdoors, especially in fishing and birdwatching. He collected angel figurines of many shapes and sizes and looked forward to chatting it up with his best buddy of almost 50 years, TJ, from California.
Most especially, Drake is survived by and shared a remarkable 30+ year bond with his sweet Moluccan Cockatoo, Mollie. She is affectionate, intelligent and had been by his side her entire life.
He is survived by his mother, June Huber; his sister, Audrey Bagdon; his brother-in-law, Tony Bagdon JR, his nephews, Daniel R. Jacobs and Tony Bagdon III; and niece, Danielle Eslin.
Drake was a dedicated supporter of the DAV – Disabled American Veterans. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory are kindly requested to the DAV as well as an exotic bird rescue of your choice. Please contact the family for a recommendation to a local rescue.
Memorial arrangements will be held for the immediate family only. Drake’s choice as a U.S. Navy Veteran is to be honorably buried at sea, a long-standing maritime tradition.
