Dorrit Brocklander

Dorrit Brocklander of Odenton died August 5th after a battle with cancer surrounded by her family. She was born April 30, 1947 in Copenhagen Denmark. She immigrated to the US when she was 18 as an Au Pair. She lived in Queens, New York and worked at Scandinavian Airlines System for 30 years where she made many life long friends.
She met her husband Fred (who pre deceased her in 2009) while he was traveling as an Umpire. They lived in Queens and raised one daughter Stefanie until retiring to Odenton, MD. She always loved Denmark and visited family frequently and ultimately became a US citizen in the 90's.
She enjoyed her retirement and loved to cruise with her husband, family and friends. She enjoyed gardening, take trips to the beach and Atlantic City.
Most of all she loved caring for her 2 grandchildren Jason and Samantha and watching them learn and grow.
She is survived by her daughter Stefanie Soler and her husband David of Severn , her brother Mogens Fahlgren and his wife Jane of Denmark , her sister in law Jane Bowling and her husband Walter of Bel Air , grandchildren Jason and Samantha Soler , her niece Helle , nephew Jan and many extended family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a memorial visitation on Friday, August 10, from 3:00pm to 4:00pm at Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, P.A. 1411 Annapolis Road Odenton, MD where a memorial service will take place at 4:00pm. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice of the Chesapeake 445 Defense Highway Annapolis, MD 21401 or The Tate Cancer Center 305 Hospital Drive Glen Burnie, MD 21061.
