Mike, a career firefighter, dedicated his life to the service of others. After he graduated from Mount Saint Joseph Catholic High School in 1978, he began his lifelong dream of becoming a firefighter. He began volunteer service at the Woodlawn Volunteer Fire Company while still in high school, and in 1979 he began working at Fort George G. Meade Fire and Emergency Services. Throughout the years, Mike also worked at several other fire departments, including Department of the Navy (Cheltenham) and the United States Naval Academy, but returned to Fort Meade where he retired from in April 2010 as Captain. At the time of his passing, Mike worked for Northrop Grumman Corporation as fire marshal. Besides his career, Mike was a proud and loving father to children Samantha and Logan. He never met a stranger, everyone he came into contact with was welcomed with open arms and treated like family. Mike was a history buff and enjoyed everything from fire history, railway history, amusement parks, Batman, and his vast collection of memorabilia is a testament to everything he was passionate about. Although living in different states, Mike would make regular visits by train to spend time and bond with his grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his two loving children, Samantha Doll of Lexington, SC and Logan Doll of Baltimore, MD; beloved mother, Ruth Doll; two cherished grandsons, Matthew and Maverick Belcher.
