Donald N. Blanton II of Severn, MD, 77, husband, father, brother, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and patriot, passed away on Thursday February 22, 2024 at 8:57am. He was in the care of Hospice of the Chesapeake after an extended illness. This was also, his birthday 2/22/1947.
Beloved husband of Beverly A. Blanton. Father to Tammie (Ralph) Harris, Shirley Pierpont, John (Krista) Hoffman and preceded in death by their youngest daughter Dawn Lynn Blanton.
Brother of Darice Zeigler. Grandfather to Heather (Marcus) Harris, Donald (Bridget) Harris, Courtney Hoffman, Heather (Lukas) Higgins and Elizabeth (Andrew) Sharpe.
Great Grandfather to Austin, Sean, Rodger, Jonathan, Zachary, Jordan, Isabella, Kash, Cameron and Mia. Cousin to Mary Alice Formo, Stacy Williamson, and Ingrid Johansen.
Preceded in death by his parents Donald N. Blanton, Sr. and Ursel Chapel Williamson Blanton, also by his aunts Iris Taylor, Alise Sherman and Margaret Johansen and an Uncle Marshall Williamson. Don also leaves behind many other family, friends, adopted family and his many brothers of the Nam Knights motorcycle club. He will be greatly missed by many.
Born in Washington, DC in 1947, Don resided in Severn, MD. In 1964 Don joined the USMC and served two tours of duty in Viet Nam. Upon his discharge in 1971 at the rank of sargent (Sarge, as he was known), he and Beverly were married in 1974 and became a beautiful family of 6. Sarge enjoyed his Harley Davidson Trike and rode every chance he had. He was honored to ride with the Nam Knights Immortal 400 chapter. There were many rides to support Police, Firefighters, Military, Rolling Thunder and survivors of lost heroes.
After retiring Don & Bev enjoyed living their dream of traveling in their RV with their companion dogs Misty, Coco Puff and Dixie. They enjoyed many trips to Florida, Tennessee, Alabama, Myrtle Beach and wherever else they set their sights on.

There will be a Celebration of Life Service at the American Legion Post 60 (Laurel) on March 9th at 1:00 PM with military honors.
