Delenia Marie Garrison, a resident of Odenton, MD, and Cumberland, MD passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2011 at Anne Arundel Medical Center at the age of 70. Delenia was born on January 14, 1941 in Cumberland, MD and was the daughter of the late Anna Rhodes of Cumberland, MD. She retired from the B&O Railroad after 14 years and went back to school. Delenia was the graduate of Allegany Community College with a degree in Business and Culinary. With those degrees she fulfilled a life time dream and opened Cumberland's first Soul Food Restaurant. Delenia is survived by her loving daughters, Pandora Foster of Cumberland, MD, Diana Hebron and her husband Allen of Odenton, MD, Jayma Hamilton and Larry Good of Cumberland, MD, Delenia and husband Roger of Las Vegas, NV, Nicole Waller and her husband Ray of Alexandria, VA and Erin Huff and her husband Steve of Cumberland, MD; two loving sons, Frank Hamilton and Shirl of NC and James Hamilton of Cumberland, MD; three brothers, Donald Rhodes and his wife Karen , Cliff Rhodes and his wife Mary and Brian Rhodes and his wife Sue all from Cumberland, MD; thirty one grandchildren; seventeen great grandchildren; a special cousin, Patricia Rhodes and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Aaron Garrison and son, James Hamilton.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Metropolitan AME Church, 309 Frederick Street, Cumberland, MD 21502.
