Col. Roy A. Bryan, Jr. U.S.A. Ret

January 17, 1942 — October 7, 2015

On October 7, 2015 Col. Roy A. Bryan Jr. passed away at the age of 73 after a lengthy illness.  Born in Pennsylvania, Roy was a long-term resident of Annapolis.  Devoted husband of 50 years to Karin Bryan (nee Quarantillo); beloved father of Kelly E. Rizzo and her husband Dan of Annapolis; Loving brother of Penny Jones of Texas, Peter K. Bryan of Denver and Betsy Regan of Missouri; Cherished grandfather of Jackson Rizzo.  He is also survived by many loving family members and dear friends.

Roy achieved his master’s degree from Central Michigan.  He proudly served his country for 32 years as a member of the United States Army until he retired.  He then worked as a health care administrator for V.N.A.  until retiring again.  Roy enjoyed playing golf and especially loved spending time with his family and grandson.

The family will receive visitors at the family owned Donaldson Funeral Home & Crematory, 1411 Annapolis Road in Odenton on Monday, October 12, 2015 from 5 to 7 PM.  A mass of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at 10:30 AM at St. John Neumann Church, 620 N. Bestgate Road, Annapolis, MD 21401 where a reception will follow. Interment Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville with honors.  In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas 66675.
