Clayton M. Albertson, Sr., a resident of Odenton, MD, passed away on August 28, 2017 at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. He was 95.  Born August 28, 1922 in Lisbon, ND, he was the son of Gabriel and Mary (Odland) Albertson.

Clayton proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy until retiring after 20 years of service.  He then worked for IITRI in Annapolis as a Communication Specialist for another 22 years before retiring again.  He was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association.  Clayton enjoyed bowling, square dancing, golfing, and playing cards. He was also an avid Orioles fan.

Devoted husband of 69 years to the late Ruth Fuller Albertson; beloved father of Carolyn Mulcahy (Ray) of Huntsville, AL, Mary Jo Clarke (Bob) of Riva, MD, Clayton “Skip” Albertson, Jr. of Riva, MD and Betsy Pavesi of Yucca Valley, CA; loving brother of Mary Ann Moll and Elaine Qual of Lisbon, ND; caring brother-in-law of Barbara Ann Drake, Mary Frances Taylor, and Joyce Phillips of Rocky Mount, NC; cherished grandfather of Jeff (Deidra), Scott (Angie), Jennifer and Chris (Sarah); adoring great-grandfather of Elizabeth, Arianna, and Camden. Clayton was predeceased by 11 siblings.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his name may be made to Nichols-Bethel United Methodist Church Building Fund, 1239 Murray Road, Odenton, MD, 21113.

Inurnment will occur at Maryland Veterans Cemetery in Crownsville at a later date.
